Your Purpose

You will be a leader amongst a team of designers, writers, technologists, producers, and project managers who are obsessed with creating amazing work.

As a critical part of our Client Service team, you’ll use your 8+ years of agency or client experience to manage and strengthen our client relationships, while driving and managing the creative work.

You will collaboratively lead our clients through the branding process using your experience and skill to solve their business opportunities. You will then transition relationships into ongoing partnerships, helping the brands you create to become the iconic brands within their sector.

Position Overview

As a Midweight Graphic Designer at Bert you will play a pivotal role in advancing the visual identity of our clients' brands. You will work closely with our creative team, collaborating with senior directors, copywriters, and account managers to bring innovative concepts to life. Your creative flair and keen eye for aesthetics will be essential in crafting compelling and impactful visual solutions for a diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities

• Brand Creation: Work on branding and rebranding projects for various clients, creating consistent and engaging visual identities that communicate the brand's essence, personality and values.

• Creative Development: Generate and execute creative ideas that align with client briefs and brand guidelines. Skillfully utilise typography, colour, and imagery to enhance the impact of visual communication and maintain brand consistency. Develop campaign concepts, design digital experiences, marketing materials, packaging, and other design collateral.

• Client Interaction: Participate in co-creation workshops, presentations and meetings to clearly communicate and debate design concepts, understand client feedback, and implement revisions accordingly.

• Insights, Reference and Research: Take a proactive approach to stay ahead of design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the agency's designs are innovative and relevant.

• Production: Prepare and handoff design files to production partners, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the production process.

• Quality Control: Review and proof designs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines before final delivery.

Requirements:

• Education: Degree level education (or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a closely related field.

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a branding agency or creative studio environment.

• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects, including branding, print, and digital media.

• Software Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and familiarity with other design and prototyping tools is a plus.

• Branding Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of branding principles, logo design, typography, and colour theory.

• UI / UX Experience: Experience and knowledge of how brands are developed with digital first principles.

• Creativity: Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate ideas into compelling visual executions.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.

• Time Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

• Adaptability: Willingness to receive feedback, adapt designs based on client input, and embrace changes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

• UI / UX Experience: Use experience of UI and UK principles to create brands or evolve brands so they adopt digital first principles. Creation of digital experiences and content for brands.

• A creative all-rounder: We work across all types of brands across all types of media.

• Digital Branding: With an ever increasing digital landscape, it’s important to understand the capabilities, as well as the restriction of digital branding.

• Animation: A good understanding of motion graphics/2D animation would be great, with any experience in 3D animation being a further plus.

• Web Development: Familiarity with best UI/UX practices and Figma Familiarity with Webflow would be a bonus.

• A diverse portfolio: A portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of contemporary design, typography, motion and brand identity.

• Agency processes: Experience and understanding of the end to end design process within an agency, from concepting to final artwork.

• Strong visual skills that provide impact and deliver creativity with substance.

• Passionate, positive and enjoys new challenges, working collaboratively, proactively and contributing to team meetings.
